Area Description

The apartment is situated in Aldgate with Whitechapel nearby, perhaps most famous for one of its infamous residents: Jack the Ripper. Guests can enjoy toe-curling tours discussing the case to this day – an absolute must for those that would like to get to know the history of the area a little.

Not everything in the area is so grisly however, with some of the city’s most established markets inhabiting the area, along with an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes and bars that ensure the district is just as alive with activity at night as it is during the day. Aldgate is bordered to the north by the trendy neighbourhood of Shoreditch, and by historic Tower Hill to the south. Both of these areas are walkable by foot, as is the City of London to the west, where corporate travellers will no doubt need to spend some of their time – this is the epicentre for a significant portion of London’s business.

The closest Underground station is Aldgate East, closely followed by Aldgate; these stations service the Hammersmith & City and District, and the Circle and Metropolitan lines respectively.
